Planning stained glass door panels
Door glazing needs a design that works with the door itself. Give the specialist the position and number of panels, the frame material and any existing glass you want to retain or match.
Supply of stained glass panels does not automatically include a new door or joinery. Ask who will measure, remove old glazing, prepare the rebates and install the finished work. A traditional panel and a panel encapsulated within a sealed unit need different assessment.
What to confirm
- Confirm whether the request is for glass panels, a complete door or glass fitted into existing joinery.
- Include photographs of both faces of the door, panel positions and any matching porch glass.
- Ask the specialist to confirm the appropriate safety-glazing arrangement and door compatibility.
Prices, current stock, lead times and coverage need direct confirmation. A project brief does not reserve a reclaimed item or approve a glazing construction.
