Specialist service
Repairs
Assess cracked glass, damaged joints or a localised fault.
Describe your project ↓

Planning repairs
Photograph the whole panel and the damaged detail. A specialist decides whether an in-situ repair is practical or workshop removal is needed; a small crack does not always mean a complete rebuild.
This is a request for specialist assessment, not a diagnosis or an approved installation specification. Share available photographs and drawings during the studio consultation.
What to confirm
- Confirm the condition and intended outcome before agreeing work.
- Ask for an itemised scope including survey, access, temporary protection, transport and refitting where needed.
- Confirm timing and price directly with the appointed specialist.
Prices, current stock, lead times and coverage need direct confirmation. A project brief does not reserve a reclaimed item or approve a glazing construction.
Understand a restoration sequence
Shine’s published before-and-after examples show damaged panels, removal of old lead, replacement leadwork and the restored glass in transmitted light. They also show resizing and combining panels.
- Assess: document the original panel and damage.
- Agree treatment: identify retained glass, repairs and new leadwork.
- Review: compare the restored panel and agree refitting.
Reference photographs remain on the originating studio’s website. The concept illustration above is not a before-and-after record.
